HMRC have release the latest bunch of figures to give you an insight into the tax return submission process this year. Key facts:
  • 9.45 million tax returns were filed on time, and 80.9% of them (7.65 million) were filed via the internet.
  • The busiest day for submissions was the 31st January. Nearly 445,000 returns were put through HMRC's systems, with nearly 40,000 between 4pm and 5pm.
