Paper Tax Return Deadline October 31st 2012
It's that time of the year again - if you had a notice to complete a tax return for the 2011/12 tax year (10.6 million were sent out) - and are not submitting your return online, you need to get your tax return to HMRC before November 1st.
If you are completing your paper tax return yourself, for some extra peace of mind make sure you obtain proof of postage. In case of any delivery problems you can use the proof when lodging any appeal over penalties.
Paper tax returns received after this November 1st will incur a £100 penalty, regardless of whether any tax is due - a penalty which can be avoided if you can submit your tax return online by the 31st January 2013.
